The Conway Bears lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Tuesday was a bit more commanding. They had to suffer through a rough 80-47 loss at the hands of Niangua. Conway has not had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Niangua's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Clayton Henderson led the charge by scoring 26 points along with five rebounds. Henderson has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Tanier Dunn, who scored 19 points along with two steals and two blocks.
Conway has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Niangua, they pushed their record up to 15-2 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Conway will take on the Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Niangua, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. New Covenant Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 497th, while the Cardinals are ranked 94th).
