The Medina Mustangs pushed their score all the way to 60 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Royalton-Hartland by a score of 63-60. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Medina in their matchups with Royalton-Hartland: they've now lost five in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Medina lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jerrell Nealy. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 25 points and 20 rebounds. The contest was Nealy's third in a row with at least ten points. Justin Pitts was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Medina's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Royalton-Hartland, their victory bumped their record up to 1-6.
Medina will be playing in front of their home fans against Akron at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Akron focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 two weeks ago. As for Royalton-Hartland, they will head out on the road to face off against Lockport at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Lockport presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Royalton-Hartland in New York (Lockport is ranked 242nd, while Royalton-Hartland is ranked 739th).
