The First Academy Eagles posted their biggest win since January 4th on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 41-20 margin over Orangewood Christian. The score was all tied up 8-8 at the break, but First Academy was the (much) better team in the second half.
Among those leading the charge was Molly Beliveau, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 16 rebounds. She also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Ashlyn Neiford, who scored two points along with six steals and five rebounds.
The victory got First Academy back to even at 8-8. As for Orangewood Christian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. First Academy will challenge Crooms Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Crooms Academy is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home. As for Orangewood Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against Tohopekaliga at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
