If the Ferguson Falcons were riding high off their 80-40 takedown of the Varela Vipers on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Ferguson suffered a tough 84-58 loss at the hands of the Eagles on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Ferguson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 224th, while the Eagles are ranked 26th).
Despite the loss, Ferguson still got an impressive performance from Brandon Vazquez, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds. Jordan Gonzalez was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.
It was another big night for Raul Perez ruiz, who scored 22 points for North Broward Prep. Perez ruiz hasn't dropped below 15 points for 11 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Francesco Borio, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds and two steals.
Ferguson has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season. As for North Broward Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which somehow isn't as good as their 19-6 record this season.
Ferguson won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Wildcats at 8:00 p.m. on January 31st. Western will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for North Broward Prep, they will be playing at home against the Jaguars at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dreyfoos School of the Arts is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
