The Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame Knights lost against the Odessa Tigers back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Taytem Collins, who scored four points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Collins is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted four or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Annelise Curran, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Hayden Schuh was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds for Odessa. Schuh has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 14 times she's played. Mackenzie Lutz was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Odessa, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-6.
Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Wilbur-Creston-Keller presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Knights in Washington (the Wildcats are ranked 100th, while the Knights are ranked 306th). As for Odessa, they will head out on the road to take on the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cusick is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.
