Basketball Recap: Somerset Sky Pointe Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Moapa Valley came into Friday's contest looking for another win against Somerset Sky Pointe, but Ja'Cory Gory wouldn't allow it. The Somerset Sky Pointe Eagles were the clear victor by a 67-47 margin over the Moapa Valley Pirates on Friday thanks in part to Gory, who went 11 of 24 on his way to 30 points and five assists. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.

The team also got some help courtesy of Salvador Obi, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 10 points. Those ten points gave him a new career-high.

Despite the loss, Moapa Valley still got an impressive performance from Brigham Whitmore, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 15 points. Another player making a difference was Bryson Walker, who posted seven points and 15 rebounds.

Somerset Sky Pointe's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-5. As for Moapa Valley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
