Coahoma is 2-8 against Compass Academy since October of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will square off against the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Coahoma had won two straight home games and Bree Lewis did her part to make it three on Saturday. The Bulldogs blew past Crane 3-0 for which the team can thank Lewis, who had 12 kills, eight digs, and two blocks. She has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 31 times she's played.
Coahoma got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the third set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-17, 31-29.
Coahoma can attribute much of their success to Gabby Cox, who had seven digs, four aces, and one block, and Madi Renteria, who had eight kills, four blocks, and three digs. That's the most digs Cox has posted over her last six matchups. Andrea Arrendondo was another key player, getting five aces and four digs.
Meanwhile, Compass Academy got the win against Brownfield on Saturday by a conclusive 3-0. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Cubs: they've now won eight in a row.
Compass Academy never let Brownfield on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-16, 26-24.
Coahoma better focus on containing Sareyah Hinojoz and Ellie Molinar as the pair were huge in Compass Academy's win. Hinojoz had ten digs and one assist, while Molinar had 21 digs and two aces.
Compass Academy's win bumped their record up to 24-10. As for Coahoma, their victory bumped their record up to 24-11-1.
Coahoma came out on top in a nail-biter against Compass Academy when the teams last played on October 11th, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
