Deep Run is 2-8 against Glen Allen since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. Glen Allen took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Deep Run, who comes in off a win.
Deep Run will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Friday, then bounced right back against James River Midlothian on Monday. The Wildcats blew past the Rapids 14-6. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by eight runs or more this season.
Emily Plank was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. Those 13 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Deep Run let Braelyn Baulsir and Brooke Black run wild. Baulsir got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base, while Black went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those four runs gave Baulsir a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hope Tate, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, Glen Allen didn't have quite enough to beat Hanover on Thursday and fell 6-5. The Jaguars haven't had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Jaidyn Tillman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up 14 Ks.
On the hitting side, Alison Via made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
Deep Run's record is now 10-8. As for Glen Allen, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6.
Deep Run suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Glen Allen in their previous matchup on May 2nd. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
