After soaring to 61 points the game before, the Wisner-Pilger Gators were a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 59-25 loss at the hands of Pender. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Wisner-Pilger has scored all season.
Pender's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hadley Walsh led the charge by scoring 15 points along with two steals. Walsh hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyla Krusemark, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Wisner-Pilger now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Pender, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 15-0.
Wisner-Pilger will be playing in front of their home fans against Howells-Dodge at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Pender won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Glenwood at 10:25 a.m. on January 20th. Glenwood will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 101st in Iowa, while Pender is ranked tenth in Nebraska).
