The Union County Patriots pushed their score all the way to 58 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The matchup between Union County and Eastern Hancock wasn't particularly close, with Union County falling 75-58. Union County has not had much luck with Eastern Hancock recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Union County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nick Watterson, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Watterson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Davis, who scored eight points along with five assists and two steals.
Kayden Ruble was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with nine rebounds for Eastern Hancock. Ruble is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games he's played. Luke Morris was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
Union County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Eastern Hancock, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
Union County the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Tri at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. Tri will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. Eastern Hancock won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Greenfield-Central at 7:30 p.m. on January 13th. Averaging 63.2 so far this season, Greenfield-Central's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Eastern Hancock better be ready for a challenge.
