Hemingway is on a five-game streak of home losses, Green Sea Floyds a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Hemingway Tigers will take on the Green Sea Floyds Trojans at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hemingway comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last 11 games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Hemingway suffered their biggest loss since December 4, 2023 on Friday. They were dealt a 60-9 defeat at the hands of Carvers Bay. Hemingway was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-7.
Meanwhile, Green Sea Floyds was able to grind out a solid victory over Lamar on Tuesday, taking the game 46-37.
Shantavia Hilliard and Dee Dee Boyd were among the main playmakers for Green Sea Floyds as the former scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and four steals and the latter dropped a double-double on 11 points and 16 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Boyd has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Paris McClellan, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Hemingway's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Green Sea Floyds, their win bumped their record up to 6-12.
Hemingway came up short against Green Sea Floyds in their previous matchup back in February of 2020, falling 39-33. Can Hemingway avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
