Hamilton is 2-8 against Chandler since November of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Hamilton Huskies will head out on the road to face off against the Chandler Wolves at 7:00 p.m. Hamilton has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 411 points over their last eight matches.
Last Friday, Hamilton faced Red Mountain in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Hamilton was the clear victor by a 49-28 margin over Red Mountain. The result was nothing new for Hamilton, who have now won seven contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Hamilton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rich Lucero jr., who threw for 297 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72% of his passes. Breylon Blount was in the mix as well, providing Hamilton with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Chandler put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 49-7 victory over Perry.
Chandler relied on the efforts of Blake Heffron, who threw for 124 yards and two touchdowns, and CaLil Valentine, who rushed for 208 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. Valentine was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Branch, who picked up 49 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 7-2.
Hamilton skirted past Chandler 19-17 in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hamilton since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
