Even though Chicago Sullivan scored an imposing 66 points on Friday, Chicago Mathematics & Science still came out on top. Chicago Mathematics & Science snuck past Chicago Sullivan with a 71-66 win.
Chicago Mathematics & Science got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Marcus Hughes-Bey out in front who scored 23 points along with eight steals and seven blocks. The game was Hughes-Bey's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Joune Woods, who scored 21 points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Southland College Prep beat Intrinsic Charter School Downtown Campus 53-43 on Saturday.
Chicago Mathematics & Science's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.7 points per game. As for Southland College Prep, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
