The Mississippi School for the Deaf Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 40-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mount Olive. Mississippi School for the Deaf has not had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the loss, Mississippi School for the Deaf saw an underclassman step up: DeSiare Ingram scored 16 points. That was a full 45.7% of Mississippi School for the Deaf's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aimaya Brand, who scored nine points.
Mississippi School for the Deaf has not been sharp recently as the team's lost ten of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. As for Mount Olive, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-14.
