The West Anchorage Eagles can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They walked away with a 42-35 victory over Eagle River. The score was all tied up 22-22 at the break, but West Anchorage was the better team in the second half.
Despite the loss, Eagle River still got an impressive performance from Brooklyn Rollman, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Darby Buyse, who scored four points along with ten rebounds and eight steals.
West Anchorage's win bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Eagle River, they dropped their record down to 1-9 with that defeat, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.
West Anchorage will take on the Golden Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eagle River, they will head out on the road to challenge the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
