Corinth Holders had a senior duo take command as Lauren Sizemore dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards and Darla Lee posted 21 points and four steals. Sizemore also set a new season-high mark in blocks with four. Another player making a difference was Jada Vanderhorst, who earned four points and 12 rebounds.
Corinth Holders smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 15 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Cleveland earned a 62-55 win over Knightdale on Tuesday.
Corinth Holders better focus on containing DD Tsolenyanu and Angelia Dunn as the pair were huge in Cleveland's win. Tsolenyanu dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten boards, while Dunn went 9-for-15 to rack up 20 points and five steals. The game was Dunn's 14th in a row with at least 15 points. Izzy Sholar was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.
Corinth Holders' record now sits at 5-0. As for Cleveland, their record is now 3-0.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Corinth Holders has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 33.4 boards per game. However, it's not like Cleveland struggles in that department as they've been averaging 45 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
