Whiteland extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 11-8 in the process. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Perry Meridian Falcons. That's two games straight that the Warriors have won by just one run.

Kayden Wilson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Wilson was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Blake Riddle, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Whiteland is 6-1 when Riddle posts two or more runs, but 5-7 otherwise. Brody Williams also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
As for Perry Meridian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by just one run.
Like Whiteland, Perry Meridian also got a great game from a two-way player: Aiden Kerr. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Kerr has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double.
In other pitching news, Jackson McDaniel was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
Back at the plate, Ethan Neffle was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Nate Risley, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Whiteland will square off against Covenant Christian at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Perry Meridian, they will venture away from home to face off against Martinsville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
