On Tuesday, the Rocky Mountain Grizzlies faced the Middleton Vikings in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Rocky Mountain fell to Middleton  59-53. The  game was a  24-24 toss-up at halftime, but Rocky Mountain  was outscored by Middleton in the second.
 When it comes to explaining why Rocky Mountain lost, one person who can't be blamed is  Anna Dabell. Despite the final result, she  scored 15 points along with six  rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points  Dabell has scored all season. Another player making a difference was  Averee Osterhout, who  scored 11 points along with six  rebounds.
 Middleton found their leader in underclassman  Aysha Fried, who  dropped  a double-double on 13 points and ten  rebounds. Fried hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of  Robynn Flowers, who  scored 11 points along with two  steals.
 Rocky Mountain has  not been sharp recently, as they've  lost three of their last four contests,  which put a noticeable dent in their 12-5 record this season. As for Middleton, the  win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 13-3.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rocky Mountain will  challenge Timberline at 7:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Timberline will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. As for Middleton, they will head out on the road to  take on  Centennial at 7:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Centennial is coming into the  matchup on a three-game losing streak.
