Even though the Thales Academy Apex Titans scored an imposing 69 points on Thursday, the Lee Christian Falcons still came out on top. Lee Christian snuck past Thales Academy Apex with a 75-69 victory. The score was all tied up 40-40 at the break, but Lee Christian was the better team in the second half.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lee Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Daniel Rumbold, who scored 31 points along with seven assists and two steals. Rumbold has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last eight times he's played. Another player making a difference was Chris Farrar, who scored 22 points along with three steals.
Thales Academy Apex lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nathan Purvis, who scored 26 points along with five rebounds. Purvis is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Brown, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Even though they lost, Thales Academy Apex smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Lee Christian's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-5. As for Thales Academy Apex, their loss was their tenth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-17.
