While losing is never fun, Midland Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 236th, while Lexington is ranked seventh).
When it comes to explaining why Midland Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Brayshawn Carter. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points. Tyler White was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Midland Valley's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-7. As for Lexington, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Midland Valley will square off against River Bluff at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lexington, they will head out on the road to face off against Grovetown at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday.
