4A Pikes Peak recap September 4, 2013
Sand Creek's Micheal DeCarmo recorded the longest rushing play in 4A Pikes Peak this season in his game against Lewis-Palmer last week. DeCarmo ran for 68 yards on the play and finished with 168 on the day as his team beat the Rangers.
Pine Creek was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after besting Fountain-Fort Carson. The Eagles came in at 21 in the state poll after placing at number 36 last week.
Rampart's dynamic duo of Cameron Hacker and Clayton Hacker proved to be unstoppable against Canon City, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Hacker threw for 296 yards and 5 touchdowns and Hacker had 180 yards receiving. Donovan Oldham helped Rampart's passing attack out by catching 6 balls for 57 yards.
The Rams' dynamic duo of Hacker and Hacker proved tough for the Tigers to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Hacker put up the best numbers through the air as Rampart bested Canon City.
Kalen Ballage was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 231 yards on 18 carries as Falcon beat Tom O'Rourke's team. Teammate Wyatt Aaberg added to the ground attack by rushing for 54 yards.
Ballage was a force in the backfield as the Falcons bested Widefield.
Tyler Preiean was a key player and the best on defense this week as the Rams topped the Tigers. The 5-foot-7 defensive back.
Hacker was the best receiver in the league this week as Rampart beat Canon City.
He was 19-32 with 0 interceptions.
Leading 4A Pikes Peak in both passing and receiving yards, the Rams' Hacker and Hacker have proven to be a lethal combination. Hacker has thrown for 296 yards this season, while Hacker, a 6-foot-4 receiver, has 9 catches for 180 yards. Falcon's Ballage leads the league in rushing yards with 231.
Rampart moved up to 54 from 83 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Rams were able to make move up by topping the Tigers 44-30.
