Softball Recap: Tuslaw Wins Going Away Against Fairless

Tuslaw won the last time they faced Fairless and things went their way on Monday too. The Mustangs blew past the Falcons 12-2. Considering the Mustangs have won five contests by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Isabel McCune made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. McCune was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Dani Crescenze was a standout: she scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. Hailey Carano also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Tuslaw was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .552. They are 6-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Tuslaw's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Fairless, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tuslaw will square off against Washington at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fairless, they will take on Tuscarawas Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Falcons surely won't give up without a fight.
