While losing is never fun, Lakeland Preparatory can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 310th, while Kingsbury is ranked 131st).
Despite the loss, Lakeland Preparatory still got an impressive performance from Connor Jones, who scored 30 points. The matchup was Jones' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Cooper Gallagher, who scored ten points.
Lakeland Preparatory's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-7. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points per game. As for Kingsbury, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakeland Preparatory will take on Memphis Business Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Memphis Business Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 391 points over their last five contests. As for Kingsbury, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Memphis Central at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th.
