Basketball Recap: Daleville Piles Up the Points Against Union

Daleville won the last time they faced Union and things went their way on Friday too. The Daleville Broncos claimed a resounding 52-25 win over the Union Rockets. The Broncos have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 23 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Daleville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trishell Johnson, who posted eight points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. Johnson is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last four games she's played. Olivia Pratcher was another key player, going 7-for-15 en route to 16 points and three steals.

Daleville was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Union only posted five assists.

Despite the loss, Union still got an impressive performance from Glory Ellis, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine boards. That was a full 56% of Union's points, marking the third time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Melissa Schmucker, who put up two points and six rebounds.

Daleville's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-7. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 27.7 points. As for Union, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.

Daleville has already played their next contest, a 53-29 win against Tri-Central on the 4th. As for Union, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 53-15 loss against Monroe Central on the 4th.
