The Westover Patriots were the 51-46 winner over the Dougherty Trojans when they last played one another back in November, but their luck changed this time around. Westover took a 60-45 bruising from Dougherty on Tuesday. Westover has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Westover's loss came despite strong showings from Traveion Wheeler and Jalen Holmes. Wheeler scored 10 points along with 7 rebounds, while Holmes scored 9 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Milton, who scored 5 points along with 3 steals.
Jawuan Jinks jr was the offensive standout of the contest as he scored 17 points. Kaleke Singletary-Jinks was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Westover's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Dougherty, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
Westover is on the road again on Saturday and play against Monroe at 5:30 p.m. on December 9th. As for Dougherty, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hapeville Charter at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hapeville Charter will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 250th, while Dougherty is ranked 73rd).
