The Sterling Rangers will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Brazosport Exporters at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, it was close, but Sterling ultimately received the gift of a 50-47 victory from a begrudging Rangerssquad. The victory was just what they needed coming off of a 69-26 loss in their prior game.
Meanwhile, Brazosport scored the most points they've had all season to find success two weeks ago. They blew past La Marque 81-23 at home. The victory was familiar territory for Brazosport who now have three in a row.
Brazosport got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nadia Ewells out in front who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. The contest was Ewells' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Londyn Brown was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds.
Sterling's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-8. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Brazosport, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.
