The South Central Satellites will take on the Hebron Hawks at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
On Tuesday, South Central came up short against Winamac and fell 10-6. The Satellites have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Carson Rinker was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Doll, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, Hebron made sure to put some runs up on the board against Rensselaer Central on Thursday. The Hawks walked away with an 11-6 win over the Bombers. With that victory, the Hawks brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Luke Charpentier and Marshall Hall did most of the damage at the plate: Charpentier went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and one run, while Hall went 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most hits Charpentier has posted since back in April of 2024. Cade Hildebrandt was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Hebron kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Hebron is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for South Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-11.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. South Central has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Hebron struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
South Central was able to grind out a solid victory over Hebron when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 12-8. Will the Satellites repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
