Basketball Recap: St. John Takes Down South Central in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and St. John had no trouble coming through when it counted. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat the South Central Timberwolves 55-25. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, South Central still got an impressive performance from Isabel Hackney, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Hackney has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 12 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cashton Leeper, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds.

The victory (which was St. John's fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points over those games. As for South Central, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-11.

As of now, neither St. John nor South Central have any future games scheduled.
