The Liguori Academy Falcons scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They strolled past Bethel Baptist Academy with points to spare, taking the game 68-51. The win was just what Liguori Academy needed coming off of a 54-34 defeat in their prior contest.
Naiem Scott-Allen continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 26 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Liguori Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Rydee Miller, who scored 15 points.
Defeat or not, Bethel Baptist Academy got some senior leadership from Zahyir Davis who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and five steals and Ethan Pennachietti who scored 19 points along with three steals. Davis scored a full 27.5% of Bethel Baptist Academy's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Stahl, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
The win got Liguori Academy back to even at 3-3. As for Bethel Baptist Academy, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-1.
Liguori Academy will head out on the road to face off against New Foundations at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bethel Baptist Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Liguori Academy at 4:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
