Jones Came Up Big in Saguaro's 30-20 Loss
Starting off the list is Saguaro's Marcel Jones, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Jones rushed for 161 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.5 yards per carry, and also threw for 158 yards and a touchdown.
Saguaro is on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-6. Jones and Saguaro will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Chaparral at 7:00 p.m. on October 18th.

A Season-Best Effort from Dean Vincent Leads Pinnacle over Chaparral
On Friday, Pinnacle got the W thanks in part to Dean Vincent playing the best football he has all season. Vincent picked up a sack, forced a fumble, and made nine total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Chaparral had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Vincent it was a similar story. Vincent picked up a sack and made 11 total tackles (3.0 for loss) the last time he and the Firebirds duked it out back in September of 2023.

Centennial found a leader in Taurean Hall as the squad took down Saguaro on Friday. Saguaro had no answer to Hall as he picked up two sacks, forced a fumble, and made four total tackles.
The win made it two in a row for Centennial and bumps their season record up to 2-4. Hall and Centennial will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Queen Creek at 7:00 p.m. on October 18th.
