The West Lafayette Red Devils will take on the Delphi Community Oracles at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (West Lafayette 3.4, Delphi Community 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Delphi Community will be up against a hot West Lafayette team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Red Devils blew past Crawfordsville 19-3 on Friday. The Red Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Molly Mansfield was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, West Lafayette got a massive performance out of Eleanor Hurt, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI Hurt has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Paola Eifler, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
West Lafayette hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in eight consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 19 runs the game before, Delphi Community was a bit more limited in their game on Saturday. They lost 12-2 to Benton Central. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Oracles, who until this matchup were averaging 4.1 runs allowed.
Ava Mills and Sami Leopard stepped up to the plate in a big way. Mills went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI, while Leopard got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
West Lafayette's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Delphi Community, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-4.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. West Lafayette hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .369. However, it's not like Delphi Community struggles in that department as they've averaged .405. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
West Lafayette was able to grind out a solid victory over Delphi Community in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, winning 14-9. Do the Red Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Oracles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
