Wheeler is a perfect 10-0 against Putnam since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Lions will be playing at home against the Clippers at 4:00 p.m. Wheeler has given up an average of 7.3 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Wheeler is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Ledyard just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Monday. They fell 13-9 to the Colonels.

Addie Stanley was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Butremovic, who went 3-for-4 with two runs.

Meanwhile, Putnam was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 15-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lyman Memorial. Even if the Clippers couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Laci Sinni made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Brynn Dignam, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Wheeler's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Putnam, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

Putnam's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Wheeler has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.9 hits per game. It's a different story for Putnam, though, as they've been averaging 10.5 hits. Given Wheeler's sizable advantage in that area, the Clippers will need to find a way to close that gap.

Wheeler took their win against Putnam in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 22-12 score. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Clippers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
