Ansonia's Arkeel Newsome recorded the longest rushing play in Naugatuck Valley - Brass this season in his game against Holy Cross last week. Newsome's team bested the Crusaders as he sprinted for 70 yards on the play and finished with 309 in all.
Ansonia took down Holy Cross 62-13 last week, the largest margin of any game. Newsome ran for 309 yards and caught 1 pass for 38 yards during the win.
Vincient Gambino threw for 410 yards and 5 touchdowns. He was 21-37 with 2 interceptions.
Newsome was a force in the backfield as Thomas Brockett's team defeated Mike Giampetruzzi's team.
