The Bluffton Bobcats waltzed into their match on Tuesday with 12 straight wins but they left with 13. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat May River 66-25 at home. Bluffton has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Bluffton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tacoya Heyward, who scored 30 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Heyward is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Ja'laina Mosley was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Bluffton's win was their 17th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-1. As for May River, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bluffton will square off against Hilton Head Island at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Hilton Head Island focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Tuesday. As for May River, they will head out on the road to take on Lucy Beckham at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lucy Beckham is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
