Softball Recap: Amarillo Has No Trouble Against Lubbock

While Amarillo put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Lubbock. The Sandies were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Westerners. Considering the Sandies have won 18 matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The result came thanks to Amree Anglin's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 17 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Braylee Shuffield, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Madilynn Russell, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Amarillo's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-8-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Lubbock, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-10-1.
