Cole Lazorick was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. He has become a key player for Jim Thorpe: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 2-4 otherwise. Brody Schrantz also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Jim Thorpe always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Saucon Valley never let their opponents score on Monday. They blew past Palisades 10-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.
Noah Hubert was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Cole Hubert was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zak Ziegler, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Saucon Valley pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.2 runs over those games. As for Jim Thorpe, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Wednesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Jim Thorpe has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .440. However, it's not like Saucon Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .545. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
