Vashon will be defending their home turf for the first time on Friday when they go up against Living Word Christian at Gateway Stem at 7:00 PM. The MaxPreps rankings say the odds are against Vashon, but that can only make success all the sweeter.
Vashon had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. They were completely outmatched, falling 0-64 to Sikeston.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Living Word Christian ultimately got the result it was hoping for last Friday. They snuck past Orchard Farm with a 33-27 win.
Living Word Christian's victory lifted them to 1-0 while Vashon's loss dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if Living Word Christian can add another positive mark to their record or if Vashon can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Living Word Christian's step.
