The Ellet Orangemen had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of Wadsworth by a score of 62-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Ellet still got an impressive performance from Caitlyn Holmes, who scored 35 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Sanaiiya Gray was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds.
Ellet's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Wadsworth, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ellet will take on Woodridge at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Wadsworth, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Jackson at 8:00 p.m.
