Cairo extended the longest winning streak in AAAA Region 1 this week by beating Americus-Sumter, 29-20. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Syrupmakers.
Monroe took down Crisp County 28-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Westover's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Patriots feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. T.J. Cromer has thrown for 1057 yards and seven touchdowns this season, while Jackie Childs has 11 catches for 231 yards. Dalviness Greene leads the league in rushing with 825 yards.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Tornadoes take on Cairo. Monroe has allowed 119 points this season, while Tom Fallaw's team has given up 90.
Worth County made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,156 from 6,513. The advance stemmed from a 35-27 victory over Albany last week.
