Baker's Ricky Sparks recorded the longest rushing play in Section 3 Class AA 1 this season in his game against Central Square last week. Sparks' team topped the Redhawks as he sprinted for 88 yards on the play and finished with 120 in all.
Baker extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Central Square, 63-20. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
The Bees' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Josh Demoski threw for 54 and one touchdown and Eric Anthony had 54 yards receiving. On the ground Tyler Rouse chipped in 262 yards.
Proctor's Jordan Treen and Chris Simmons have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Treen has thrown for 1330 yards this season, while Simmons, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 25 catches for 558 yards. Rouse from Baker leads the league in rushing with 2494 yards.
The top two teams in Section 3 Class AA 1 will face off this week when first place Fayetteville-Manlius takes on second place Baker. Last week, Fayetteville-Manlius beat Henninger, while the Bees bested Matt DiCarlo's team.
