Trinity Lutheran has won nine straight games at home (dating back to last season), while New Albany has won nine straight on the road also dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Cougars will host the Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Trinity Lutheran 3.8, New Albany 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Trinity Lutheran gave up the first runs on Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. They put the hurt on New Washington with a sharp 12-2 victory. Considering the Cougars have won three matches by more than nine runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Bode Brooks was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kade Gillaspy, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Lincoln Huff was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but New Albany ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They walked away with a 6-2 win over Seymour.
Tyler McMillen tossed a big game, tossing eight innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits.
On the hitting side, Kaleb Elliott was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kadin Bush, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Trinity Lutheran's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for New Albany, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Trinity Lutheran has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like New Albany struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Trinity Lutheran might still be hurting after the 10-4 defeat they got from New Albany in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Cougars have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
