There's no place like home for the Moberly Spartans, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They strolled past Hannibal with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 59-41. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Moberly also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Moberly's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mason Bivins, who scored 15 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Ty Rucker, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Moberly's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-10. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for Hannibal, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Moberly will take on the Bulldogs at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Mexico's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight games. Hannibal will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Owls at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
