Cleveland Central is 0-3 against Florence since March of 2017 but things could change on Wednesday. The Wolves will challenge the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Florence will be up against a hot Cleveland Central team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Wolves' pitcher stepped up to hand Vicksburg a 15-0 shutout on Tuesday. Give the Wolves' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Hailey Love was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Taliyah Thomas was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Makenah Jefferson, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Cleveland Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Vicksburg only posted an OBP of .111.
Meanwhile, Florence got the win against Wesson on Friday by a conclusive 17-5. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Cobras recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
The team relied heavily on Brooke Bridges, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Callie Anderson was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.
Cleveland Central's record is now 12-3. As for Florence, their record now sits at 11-8.
Wednesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Cleveland Central has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .549. However, it's not like Florence struggles in that department as they've averaged .470. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Cleveland Central suffered a grim 12-1 defeat to Florence when the teams last played last Tuesday. Can the Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
