The Forest Hill Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Somerset Academy - Canyons Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Somerset Academy - Canyons took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Forest Hill, who comes in off a win.
Forest Hill can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They came out on top against Leonard by a score of 18-6. The win was just what Forest Hill needed coming off of a 36-6 loss in their prior match.
Carlos Morales was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 180 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Somerset Academy - Canyons' good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were beaten by Saint Andrew's 41-6. Having soared to a lofty 49 points in the game before, Somerset Academy - Canyons couldn't push the score so high this time.
Somerset Academy - Canyons' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Tristian Johnson, who rushed for 150 yards and two touchdowns, and Tayegan Briskey who gained 134 total yards. Johnson hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for five straight games.
Forest Hill's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Somerset Academy - Canyons, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Forest Hill has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 171.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Somerset Academy - Canyons struggles in that department as they've been even better at 195 per game. It's looking like Friday's game might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Forest Hill was dealt a bruising 43-12 loss at the hands of Somerset Academy - Canyons in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Can Forest Hill avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
