Durham is a perfect 5-0 against University Prep since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Trojans will take on the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. Durham is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
Durham came out on top against Winters on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Trojans took their contest against the Warriors 7-2.
Sadie Sjolund made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Ashley Spence was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Trinity Kolu, who went 2-for-5 with two runs and one triple.
Durham was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Winters only posted a batting average of .174.
Meanwhile, University Prep came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Miners with a sharp 13-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 11 games by six runs or more so far this season.
Like Durham, University Prep also got a great game from a two-way player: Hailey Pebley. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up four earned runs off ten hits. Pebley was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, University Prep got a big performance out of Abigail Lewis, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Brianna Schuette also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Durham is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for University Prep, they pushed their record up to 15-10-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
University Prep's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Durham has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for University Prep, though, as they've been averaging only 2.8 strikeouts. Will Durham keep running through batters, or will the Panthers buck the trend?
Durham was able to grind out a solid victory over University Prep in their previous matchup back in March of 2017, winning 9-4. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
