Henry Clay is 1-9 against Scott County since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Blue Devils will head out to challenge the Cardinals at 6:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Henry Clay is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Frankfort 21-3 on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

The team relied heavily on Jillian Franco, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Kyndal Brewster also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Henry Clay always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .765. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Scott County faced Bryan Station in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Cardinals put the hurt on the Defenders with a sharp 7-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won 15 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Ada Little spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Lauren Jones was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Makiah Jackson, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
The win made it two in a row for Henry Clay and bumps their season record up to 9-13. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games. As for Scott County, their record is now 20-5.
Henry Clay might still be hurting after the 14-0 loss they got from Scott County in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Blue Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
