This season hasn't been kind to The Veritas Christian Eagles, who are still winless after their sixth match. They were outmatched by Sunrise Christian Academy at home and fell 58-18. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Veritas Christian in their matchups with Sunrise Christian Academy: they've now lost five in a row.
Taiton Schmidt was the offensive standout of the contest as he threw for 74 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Carson Roberts was another key contributor, picking up 58 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Veritas Christian's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 0-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 5-1 Wichita HomeSchool (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 61% over those games). As for Sunrise Christian Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Veritas Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Sunrise Christian Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Abundant Life at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd.
