Bayshore gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They secured a 36-30 W over the Sarasota Sailors. This was payback for the Bruins, who suffered a 56-8 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Despite the loss, Sarasota saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Hudson West threw for 270 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 77.8% of his passes, and also rushed for 51 yards. Jayden Rivers was West's top target, picking up 53 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Looking ahead, Bayshore is headed away from home for the first time to challenge Parrish Community at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sarasota, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Braden River at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
