Basketball Recap: Boerne Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Boerne waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 60-44 victory over the Lytle Pirates. Given the Greyhounds' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 192nd, while the Pirates are ranked 641st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Boerne to victory, but perhaps none more so than Casen Hoegemeyer, who went 8 for 13 on his way to 18 points and three steals. Hank Hendrix was another key player, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten boards.

Several Pirates players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zacharee Perez, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Diego Reyna, who posted six points.

Boerne's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points per game. As for Lytle, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-7.

Boerne wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 46-39 victory against Harlandale on the 28th. As for Lytle, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 76-33 loss against Boerne-Champion on the 28th.
