Union (Tulsa, Okla.) saw its 13-point lead dwindle to five, but still managed to hang on and upset
Broken Arrow (Okla.) 26-21 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by
Amani Griffith in the second quarter, the Redskins led 14-7 at the half.
Union got six points from its defense on the way to victory.
Griffith was the top performer for UHS. The sophomore threw one touchdown.
The Tigers'
Coleman Key was the standout player for his team. The junior wide receiver threw one touchdown and ran for one touchdown.
When the two teams played each other last season, the Tulsa school came away with a 23-22 victory.
The win was a nice bounce back for the Redskins, which lost to Trinity last week, 21-18.
Union (2-1) goes up against Owasso in a 6A District 1 game matchup next week, while Broken Arrow (1-2) locks horns with Muskogee in a 6A District 2 game.
